Many Astro photographers will know this problem - Even after precisely focusing, in one or two corners the stars are still not exactly pinpoint. This is often due to the focal plane and the camera sensor not being precisely parallel with each other.
Some possible causes of this problem are:
- A tilted camera sensor (manufacturing imperfections by a fraction of a millimeter)
- A tilted focuser
- A tilted focal plane of the telescope (common with Newtonians)
- Tilted optical accessories caused by unprecise clamping accessories
With this T2 Tilter, you can adjust the tilt of the cameras sensor to match the focal plane of your telescope. Just make sure, once adjusted, you keep the orientation of the image train the same or you will have to re-adjust it again.
The adjustment of the tilt is done by using knurled screws, which can be done quickly in the field without the requirement for additional tools.
