This Apochromatic Refractor by Japanese Astronomical company Vixen, includes high-performance Super ED glass(SD) which provides some of the best colour correction and contrast in a Refractor of this type. The FPL53 glass reproduces an extremely clear and sharp image through of solar system and deep space objects.
The advantage of these SD refractors lies in their short overall length and low weight and the SD glass is designed to bring together all the rays of violet, red, blue, yellow and green very precisely to the same point. In addition to this, the special lens material, reduces chromatic aberration across all colors. Also available is an optional SD Reducer or SD Flattener which provide a 44mm image circle for full-frame SLR cameras.
The large focuser (60 mm thread) allows the attachment of heavy cameras without tilting. The included diagonal mirror also allows comfortable observation, even when viewing near the zenith and includes a T2 thread for connecting a DSLR camera.
