Observe the beauty of the starry night sky in almost 3D with these specialised Explore Scientific Giant Astro Binoculars. Globular star clusters, glowing gas nebulae, the moon with its many craters and even planets can be observed in outstanding detail on a clear night. Also suitable for viewing nature and landscape during the day.
These large, light-gathering lenses and professional grade coatings on all lens surfaces, ensure these binoculars produce bright and brilliant views all the time. The comfortable 45 degree viewing angle allows fatigue-free use, even when the binoculars are tilted upwards towards the zenith. Large binoculars of this type can also be called a double refractor telescope because in this configuration, the full light gathering power of one single telescope is available to each eye. Experience a whole new dimension of observing as a consequence making the moon and stars appear like you can reach out and literally touch them - one of the main advantages that binoculars have over small basic telescopes.
These extremely robust binoculars have a magnesium housing, sealed and filled with nitrogen gas to prevent fogging and moisture on the inside of the optics. The BT series binoculars are designed for tough outdoor use. The very light magnesium housing saves weight and makes them easier to handle (however they do need to be mounted on a tripod due to their physical size). Two Explore Scientific 20mm eyepieces from the 62° LER series range are also included. However you can change the eyepieces to achieve higher magnification and almost any plug in type 1.25" eyepieces are suitable.
You can even use standard 1.25" colour or nebula filters which thread into the eyepiece for astronomical observations to further enhance your views of deep sky objects. However do keep in mind the use of eyepieces and colour / nebula filters must of course always be done in pairs.
The 45-degree viewing angle allows nice relaxed observation positions even when the binoculars are tilted towards the zenith. Also the individual interpupillary distance can be adjusted in a range from 54 to 76mm. With the fine helical individual focuser, precise focusing is achieved quite effortlessly. The integrated dew caps can also be removed in high humidity as well as cold conditions and even extended - This helps avoid fogging of the outer objective lenses and offers a barrier against stray light from the side.
A metal carrying handle located at the Bino's center of gravity which facilitates transport and ensures a secure grasp during tripod assembly. When using these large binoculars, a sturdy photo tripod with an appropriate load capacity is
required. The connection is made via two 1/4 inch or one 3/8 inch threaded holes (standard photo tripod thread) in the tripod adapter of the binoculars.
