The Bresser Slider binocular mount, with its revolutionary design, offers unprecedented comfort when observing the night sky with binoculars.

The variable extension length of the two support rails (crossbars), the gimbal mounting head and various adjustable slip couplings mean that almost all binocular positions can be effortlessly adjusted. The binoculars then remain in the respective position thanks to the counterweights. During observation, it is usually not necessary to touch the binoculars themselves and regardless of whether you want to observe while standing, sitting on a swivel chair or lying on a sleeping mat or lounger, everything is possible.

The mount also represents an interesting alternative to normal tripod solutions for wheelchair users, where a tripod leg is usually always in the way. A steady view can be seen despite using larger binoculars. Normally at high magnification and medium-weight binoculars weighing 500 grams or more can be difficult, especially during longer observation periods because after just a short time,  your arms get tired and trying to maintain a steady view is almost impossible. A high photo tripod with a 360deg ball joint can certainly make a significant improvement but this solution is sometimes limited in terms of the freedom of movement of the binoculars and the position of the observer.

The Bresser Slider binocular mount offers far more options here and means that almost all desired binocular positions can be reached effortlessly. The patented design with 2 counter-rotating support rails (traverses) is guided on special linear roller bearings inside the mount head with virtually no play. This allows the observer to vary the extension length as desired with little muscle power. The sliding resistance can be continuously adjusted using 2 adjustment screws. In the middle of the center of gravity of the slider mount there is an axis with an adjustable slip clutch for the tilt and rotation movement. All bearings work absolutely smoothly and without play. For quick leveling, there is even a 30mm fluorescent circular bubble level in the mount base, which is easy to read even in the dark.

The Gimbal mount head:
The gimbal mount head works in a similar way to a ball head. However, it offers a significantly higher load capacity and more stability. Here, too, the sliding resistance of all moving parts can be adjusted to suit the respective needs. The mount head has several mounting holes for mounting a binocular holder using a 1/4 inch photo screw or a standard GP prism clamp for mounting small telescopes. There are also various holes on the side walls of the mount head for additional accessories such as red light reading lamps, smartphone holders for using Sky apps such as 'Stellarium' or LED viewfinders for quickly targeting celestial objects.

Balancing weights:
Several balancing weights enable the binoculars or telescope to be precisely balanced. 2 counterweights each weighing 2.5 kg, 1.25 kg and 0.5 kg are included with the mount and can be attached to the mounting bolts on both sides at the rear end of the mount. The weights are secured to the bolts using the 2 spring tensioners included. Instead of counterweights, a filled sandbag can be attached to the existing mounting hook. This procedure reduces the transport weight for planned excursions.

Suitable for binoculars weighing up to 3.5 kg:
The Bresser slider mount can be used with binoculars weighing up to 3.5kg. But it is also very beneficial for much smaller binoculars too by obtain blur-free images during long-term observations. The mount is made using an optionally available binocular tripod adapter, which is attached to the mount head using a 1/4 inch photo thread screw.

Tripod connection:
The appropriate tripod adapter for using the optionally available Bresser stainless steel tripod ST-3 is already included in the scope of delivery of the slider mount. This converts the standardized large 3/8-inch photo tripod thread (internal thread) in the base of the slider mount into a metric M10 thread. This means that after dismantling the adapter, a stable standard photo or video tripod with 3/8-inch threaded bolts can also be used.
